Sports shift

Well,  Isaac finished up his last two soccer games
and Michael ran in the All-Island Meet for cross-country.

Starting next week,
Michael will be doing soccer and Isaac will be doing cross-country.

So expect more of the same in the way of pictures....just switch the boys.

Zion and the girls have been troopers to spend MANY hours in the van back and forth
to practices, meets and games.

Doing lots of homework in the van too.

Kudos to all the little brothers and sisters out there that spend their lives on the sidelines.

Your turn is coming!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isaac got a good bit of playing time in the last two games.
They finished the season at 6-2
Great job Seahawks!!
Love this photo of the boys praying before the meet - amazing!
First Harvest runner - Kyle
Joe Cook - son of our dearest friends here on Guam
Our pastor's son,  Levi
one of Michael's swim team buddies
and son of friends
the son of Michael's coach - Andrew
so many people in the pack that Michael came in with.....
my photos are just horrible!  SO BUMMED!
most of the team with their super muddy feet!
Although they were undefeated in the regular season,
they couldn't pull off the numbers somehow at All-Island and came in 3rd.
Congratulations Eagles!!!
tying your shoes....very important
An area of the course that has been nicknamed, somewhat affectionately?  THE SWAMP
Hindsight is 20/20 - should have bought BLACK socks.......
see those new, white dry fit socks?
already went through the swamp here...
Lovely brown color to the socks.
Final sprint
Final sprint
Coach and his cowbell....
He will be getting one for a coaches gift if I can find one on this island.....
He never leaves home without it!
So proud of Michael.  Most of the time, 9th graders on a high school team are there to learn, instead of really compete.
Michael has done well and helped his team with his speed and determination.  (and his long legs help too!)
Also proud of the team and coach -
They are a great group of kids and encourage and support one another well.  The team work pays off - the boys team is 6-0.
The coach is always positive with the team and prays with them before every meet.
We continue to be pleased with our decision to send Michael to high school at Harvest and are looking forward to the rest of the season.
Harvest cross country - week 2
 Michael's second week of school brought two meets.
Away meet on Monday against Guam High -
Guam High is the Department of Defense High School that Michael would go to if we hadn't decided to send him to private school.
So, it was a little strange to see so many people that we know on the "other" team.  I don't know how Michael felt, I'm speaking for myself.
ANYWAY.... it wasn't raining this time.
But, it was another mud bath.
The course was mostly in the jungle, so....we only saw the runners at the beginning and the end.
 Left turn here into the jungle ----- >
3 miles later....
the final sprint....
where being 6'2 has it's advantages.....
and your long stride puts you in front.....
(*and I'll forgive the coach just this once for stepping in front of my photo pointing the finish line...
like the big orange cones aren't enough of a clue.......
Just sayin' coach - - -
And it's worth the pain .......
Another win for Harvest boys and girls cross-country
Good job Eagles!!!!
Stay tuned for meet 3..... Harvest vs. St. John's
