Guam Championship Swim Meet

Basically,
without explaining all the A/B/C time thingy -
it means the fast kids compete against each other.
You have to pre-qualify to swim in this meet.

Michael had two times that qualified.

His 50 free time of 28.92
His 100 free time of 1:09

The meet was Friday afternoon and Saturday May 25th and 26th.

Tsunami Swim Club was well represented at the meet and the swimmers did great!

Good job gang!
Keep up the hard work!

Michael has improved SO MUCH on his entry into the water!

Swim meet

Mike was off island this week and when I can, I like to volunteer at the swim meet.

That usually means timing a lane.

And timing a lane means you can't really watch your own kids swim.

You have to pay attention to the swimmer in "your" lane.

There is not really a chance to take photos.

SO..... for the meet -
Isaac was in charge of the camera.

For those that have known Isaac for a while....
these photos will make you smile,
but probably, not surprise you.

ENJOY!!!

and another....

this is the door to the little shed like thing where the pool supplies are kept (I think)

Panned out view of same shed - sometimes I wonder if someone lives there
(sometimes I hear a kid in there)

maybe someone does live there?   A mower?

Hydrate or die!

finally....a picture of a person

how refreshing....

and this one is probably because my boy is "that age"....heaven help me!

Swim meet

Part of getting back into a routine for our family is being back at the pool.

I love our Swim Team family at Tsunami Swim Club.

I also can't ignore the fact that the coaching is the best on the island.

Even though the boys have only been back in the water for a couple of practices,
they had improved times at the meet.

Zion - in the 50 back - went from a time of 1:01.82 to 54.95!!

His first B time!~

Zion also swam in the 50 breast, the 50 free and the 200 free relay.

Relay

Michael took a second off his 50 back with a time of 37:89

Also a B time!

Michael also shaved a little off his 50 free with a time of 30:67

(*almost an A time - so close!  needs to be 30:59)

He also swam in the 100 free, and the 200 free relay.

I am proud of the boys for their hard work and dedication at the pool.

The other three children (*Isaac and the two foster girls) are also in the pool on Tuesday for swim team, and we will be adding Thursday to the mix in March when basketball season is over.

It really makes it such a lovely sport when everyone -
regardless of age or gender, practices at the same time.
I highly recommend it for larger families!

Swim meet

Michael and Zion did well at the long course meet.

They both swam the 50 free and the 50 back.

Both boys took off time and continue to get faster.

Great job guys!
